Memorial Day Weekend in Kennedy Meadows

(8/3/12) Photos and Trip Report by Brian S.

A 24 mile, two-night Memorial Day weekend backpack into the heart of the Southern Sierra Wilderness with 14 Perfect Pace friends at around 8000 ft. While the High Sierras to the north usually get the attention, we were surprised and stunned by an amazingly beautiful region teeming with life and wonderful geology. Campfires during chilled star-filled nights in the mid 20-30s, and warm sunny days in the 60s also helped make this an awesome trip.
